Entertainment One Films has acquired the U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to  suspense thriller “Catch Hell,” starring Ryan Phillippe in his directorial debut.

eOne plans a fall release.

Phillippe also wrote the screenplay with Joe Gossett and produced the film with Robert Ogden Barnum and Holly Wiersma. Mark Burg and Cassian Elwes executive produced.

Phillippe portrays a former Hollywood star who’s kidnapped by two men connected to his past while on location in Louisiana and finds himself chained in a rundown shack.

It’s the second deal made by Berry Meyerowitz since he was brought on as eOne’s president of U.S. film and distribution as part of integrating his Phase 4 Films into eOne. He acquired rights to Katie Holmes’ comedy “Miss Meadows” in June.

The news was first reported by the Deadline.com site.
