New Line Casts Rusty Griswold’s Kids in ‘Vacation’ Reboot (EXCLUSIVE)

Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins Griswolds

Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins have been tapped as Rusty Griswold’s sons in the upcoming “Vacation” reboot from New Line starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.

“Horrible Bosses” scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are set to make their feature directorial debut from a script they penned. Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are also in negotiations to join.

“The Griswolds are an iconic movie family and we knew we needed stellar actors to play the kids of the next generation,” Daley said. “After a nationwide search, we found them in Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins.”

The new version of the Griswolds’ “Vacation” adventures will follow grown-up son (Helms) who has the perfect surprise for his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and two sons: the cross-country trip of a lifetime, reminiscent of the fun-filled excursion he took as a kid. They’re going to Walley World, America’s greatest amusement park.

David Dobkin is producing through his David Dobkin Prods. along with Chris Bender. Jeff Kleeman and Marc Fischer are exec producing.

“And it also doesn’t hurt that their names are Skyler and Steele,” Goldstein added. “Those are pretty badass names.”

Gisondo can be seen next in Fox’s “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” and “Hard Sell” opposite Kristin Chenoweth. Stebbins can be seen next in “A Haunted House 2.”
