Robert Downey Jr. has taken Twitter by storm, racking up nearly two million followers since joining the social media platform in early April.
The “Iron Man” star’s latest post unveiled the trailer for his new movie “The Judge,” which he dubbed “the kind of movie I grew up wanting to make.”
The clip shows Downey in the lead role of Hank Palmer, a big city lawyer who returns to his childhood home after his mother’s death. As Hank tries to reconnect his his estranged father (Robert Duvall), the town’s judge, things get more complicated when he receives a call from the sheriff saying that his father is accused of murder.
Based on the trailer, “The Judge” looks to be one of Downey’s more serious and dramatic roles as his character stands up for his family, saying, “My father’s a lot of unpleasant things. A murderer’s not one of them.”
The film also stars Vera Farmiga, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dax Shepard, Jeremy Strong and Billy Bob Thornton.
“The Judge” is slated to bow in theaters Oct. 10.
