Paul Apted, Sound Editor on ‘Fault in Our Stars,’ Dies at 47

Paul Apted Fault in Our Stars

Paul Apted, a sound editor and son of director Michael Apted, died Friday of colon cancer in Los Angeles.  He was 47.

Paul Apted was a native of Manchester, England. His recent credits include “The Fault in Our Stars,” “A Good Day to Die Hard,” “The Wolverine,” “Prisoners” and “The Book Thief.”

He worked with his father on “Nell,” “Extreme Measures” and “Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.”

Besides Micheal Apted, Paul Apted’s survivors include his wife Gemma; children Thomas and Rose; mother Jo; and siblings Jim, John and Lily.

A memorial has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on July 13 at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills. A funeral service will also be held at a later date in the U.K.
