TORONTO: Patrick Stewart's 'Match' Nabbed Foreign

Premiere Entertainment Group has acquired the foreign sales rights for Patrick Stewart’s comedy-drama “Match.”

Sales will begin at the Toronto Film Festival. IFC acquired U.S. rights in June.

“Match,” which also stars Carla Gugino and Matthew Lillard, premiered at Tribeca. Stephen Belber directed from his own script. Producers are David Permut, Matt Ratner and Rick Rosenthal.

The comedy drama is adapted from Belber’s 2004 play, which starred Frank Langella, Ray Liotta and Jane Adams.

The lead character is an aging dancer, choreographer and teacher whose life in New York is interrupted by a Seattle couple who want to interview him for the wife’s thesis.
