‘Parks and Recreation’ Star Nick Offerman Joins Drama ‘Welcome to Happiness’

“Parks and Recreation” star Nick Offerman has joined the cast of metaphysical drama “Welcome to Happiness” opposite Kyle Gallner.

The film, the first production from Minutehand Pictures, is directed by Oliver Thompson from his own script. It’s currently in production in Los Angeles.

Gallner (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) stars as a children’s book author with a secret door in his closet. Offerman, who also stars in “22 Jump Street,” will play the character’s father-figure and landlord.

The cast includes Olivia Thirlby, Molly C. Quinn, Frances Conroy, Paget Brewster, Josh Brener and Brendan Sexton III.

Producers are Thompson, Gallner and Bay Dariz under their Minutehand Pictures banner, along with Molly C. Quinn’s On Q Productions Inc.

Offerman is represented UTA and Jackoway Tyerman.
