“Kick-Ass 2” writer-director Jeff Wadlow has come on board to rewrite Sony’s “Masters of the Universe,” based on the ’80s animated TV series.

Producers are Escape Artists principals Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch. No director is attached.

The story follows the warrior Prince Adam — who becomes He-Man and battles Skeletor, the main villain.

Mattel execs Julia Pistor and David Voss are executive producing for the toymaker.

Terry Rossio (“The Lone Ranger”) wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay.

Wadlow is repped by WME.

  1. Prince Adamis says:

Also still glad its happening! This time please keep it fantasy bound and leave Earth out of it! He-Man could and should be more like Lord of the Rings in scale, with bits of Avatar, Thor, and world of Warcraft.

So much potential if they stick to the source. Adamis- would be a better name than Adam though, but use Adam as a shorter name- ie.. Ani as Anakin.

I would LOVE for Frank Langella to reprise his Skeletor role, even if he just voiced him. He was amazing in the 80s film. great make up too.

would love to see as many of the classic bad guys and heroes too, beastman merman Ram-man stratos mechaneck Orko etc etc..,

Oh, and make The Sorceress hot again not old!

And please make this film epic in scope!

  2. PS says:

Glad to hear that the movie is still planned. I thought they abandoned the project long ago.

  3. J.D. says:

Funny how other sites are reporting that he will be Directing the movie and not rewriting the script\draft. Which source is reliable now?
