Malaysia’s TGV, South Korea’s Noori Strike Film Buying Pact (EXCLUSIVE)

Cannes Film Festival

New Malaysian distributor TGV Pictures has struck an exclusive film buying arrangement with South Korea’s Noori Pictures.

Making its Cannes Market debut, TGV Pictures is the marketing and distribution arm of TGV Cinemas, Malaysia’s second-largest multiplex owner and operator.
TGV Cinemas recently opened its 23rd multiplex in Malaysia and has 18 more in various states of development that are set to open between now and 2017.

“TGV Pictures is able to leverage on our sister company’s insights into what Malaysians like to watch, along with its exhibition strength, to market and distribute movies in Malaysia,” said Gerald V. Dibbayawan, CEO of TGV Pictures.

Noori is an all-rights indie distributor in South Korea and recently picked up titles including Studiocanal’s “The Two Faces of January” and “Metro Dog” from Aldamisa Entertainment.
