WATCH: Tom Hardy Raises Hell in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Trailer

Warner Bros. has released a new explosion-laden trailer for “Mad Max: Fury Road,” five months ahead of its May 15 release. Tom Hardy takes over Mel Gibson’s role as Max Rockatansky and Charlize Theron plays Furiosa.

The setting is the post-apocalyptic, ultra-violent Australian outback. The trailer promises “A world without hope. Without law. Without mercy.”

The first trailer for “Fury Road” debuted in July at Comic-Con. The film serves as a sequel to the Gibson-George Miller trilogy of “Mad Max,” “The Road Warrior” and “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.”

Visually stunning piece of filmmaking. Mostly live camera stunts. I wasn’t impressed with the CGI sandstorm as it looked like obvious computer drawings. Still Tom Hardy seems like a believable presence in the title role. Still waiting for a Mad Max movie set in the apocalyptic concrete highways and skyscrapers of Sydney! The apocalyptic desert setting has been done to death.

This movie is so not my kind of thing, but this trailer looks spectacular. George Miller has directed this with a poet’s eye, and the use of classical music, a la the way movie trailers were in the 1990s, is a refreshing change from the crap style of using slowed down karaoke cover versions of nowadays.

Yes! Now this trailer fucking rocks unlike that lame ass new Terminator trailer! George Miller is back where he started but this Mad Max is the one to beat in the action genre in summer 2015!
