Lionsgate Buys Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Zombie Thriller ‘Maggie’

Lionsgate has acquired North American distribution rights to apocalyptic thriller “Maggie,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Abigail Breslin and Joely Richardson.

The studio made the preemptive deal prior to the Toronto International Film Festival, where it has been removed from the schedule. Lionsgate is planning a release early next year.

Henry Hobson directed the Black List script by John Scott 3. Bill Johnson and Ara Keshishian produced alongside Colin Bates, Joey Tufaro, Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, Matthew Baer and Schwarzenegger.

Silver Reel and Gold Star Films financed the film. CAA brokered the deal.

The pic tells the story of a deadly zombie virus that has spread a plague across the world. Breslin portrays a vivacious young woman who becomes infected.

Schwarzenegger is repped by Patrick Knapp at Bloom Hergot and CAA.

      You have no idea if this movie is similar to World War Z or any other movie.
      And, BTW, when World War Z came out, did you write:
      How is this movie NOT “28 Days Later”?
      How is this movie NOT “the 70,000 other movies and TV shows featuring zombies.”
