Laura Marano Starring in ‘A Sort of Homecoming’ (EXCLUSIVE)

“Austin and Ally” star Laura Marano has been cast as the lead in the upcoming indie drama “A Sort of Homecoming.”

Producers are Marcus Brown, Lynn Reed and Yvette Brown with Maria Burton directing.

Film follows a news producer who is successful, but withdrawn, as a result of problems that ensue during a high school national debate tournament. Marano will portray the teenage version.

Marano stars as an introverted songwriter on Disney Channel’s “Austin & Ally,” which is in its third season.

Marano is represented by Paradigm, Marano Entertainment, and Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner & Gellman.

    Sounds like a million other Hallmark Channel movies. I’m sure it is the same old formula with the same predictable outcome. Won’t hold my breath for this one.
