Former booker Mike McClellan steps down after 17 years with the exhib
Landmark Theaters revealed a trio of promotions Thursday, with exhibition vet Lisa Bunnell upped to head film buyer for the circuit. She will be taking over nationwide responsibilities for senior VP film buyer Mike McClellan, who is leaving Landmark after 17 years with the company. He will retain a consulting position.
The announcement was made by Landmark president and CEO Ted Mundorff, who described McClellan as “an integral part of Landmark’s growth as the top independent film circuit and we look forward to working with him in his new role.”
Mundorff said, Bunnell’s “relationships are unsurpassed, and her savvy business acumen has made her a tremendous asset to our organization.”
Bunnell and McClellan have been working together for the last eight years booking films for the circuit, which operates 272 screens in 25 markets. Previously, Bunnell had been focused on the East Coast locations.
Also part of the promotions, Mabel Tam has been tapped senior film buyer, while Dave Dunbar will now serve as a new film buyer. Most recently, Dunbar played a similar role with Hollywood Theaters; Tam adds San Diego and San Francisco to her existing list of markets — Denver, Dallas and Houston.
