The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s Beastly Ball will honor L.A.’s new film czar, Ken Ziffren, with this year’s Tom Mankiewicz Leadership Award.

Ziffren, an entertainment attorney, will receive the award June 14 at the 44th annual Beastly Ball at the L.A. Zoo. The award recognizes outstanding leadership in local or global wildlife and environmental conservation or efforts to promote civic pride and harmony in L.A.’s multicultural community.

Previous Tom Mankiewicz honorees included Sarah Michelle Gellar, Pauley Perrette and Slash, a GLAZA trustee.

Heather Mycoskie, the wife of Toms Shoes’ Blake Mycoskie, is also being feted at the annual ball. Mycoskie will be launching a new “Toms Loves Animals” program, which will partner with animal-focused organizations to do fundraising to help endangered species.
