Hillcoat, who directs from a script by Matt Cook, most recently helmed the crime drama “Lawless,” starring Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf, and also directed the 2009 adaptation of “The Road.”
The story of “Triple Nine” revolves around a group of corrupt cops who plan a major heist. The term “triple nine” is also police code when an officer needs immediate assistance.
Keith Redmon, Bard Dorros and Steve Golin are producing the crime thriller for Anonymous Content.
Winslet, nominated for a Golden Globe for Jason Reitman’s “Labor Day,” will next star in Summit’s “Divergent” due in March. She is repped by CAA and United Agents.
