K5 Intl. Sends Soccer Docu 'Next

Deals inked with U.K., France, Australia, Japan, Middle East

LONDON — K5 Intl. has struck theatrical distribution deals for soccer docu “Next Goal Wins” with Icon (U.K.), Bodega (France), Madman (Australia), Asmik (Japan) and Falcon (Middle East).

Pic is the feature debut of Mike Brett and Steve Jamison. Kristian Brodie produced for Archer’s Mark and Agile Films.

Docu follows the fortunes of the American Samoan soccer team. Against a decade-long backdrop of failure, the arrival of fiery maverick Dutch coach Thomas Rongen changes the team’s fortune.

Other docus on K5’s slate include Zachary Heinzerling’s “Cutie and the Boxer,” which is nominated for an Oscar.
