Josh Brolin to Star Opposite Emily Blunt in Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Sicario’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Josh Brolin is in talks to co-star with Emily Blunt and Benicio del Toro in “Prisoners” director Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming thriller “Sicario.”

Basil Iwanyk will produce the film, along with Thad and Trent Luckinbill and Molly Smith through their Black Label Media banner, as well as Edward McDonnell.

Story follows an officer from Tucson, Arizona who travels to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord.

Lionsgate has worldwide distribution and Black Label is financing.

Taylor Sheridan penned the script.

The CAA-repped Brolin is currently filming the Working Title pic “Everest.”
