Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ron Perlman Join Roland Emmerich’s ‘Stonewall’

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Ron Perelman Stonewall

Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”), Ron Perlman and Joey King have joined Jeremy Irvine in Roland Emmerich’s drama “Stonewall,” with shooting commencing in Montreal.

“Stonewall” is produced by Emmerich, Michael Fossat, Marc Frydman, and Carsten Lorenz; executive producers are Kirstin Winkler, Adam Press and Michael Roban.

Irvine portrays a young man in New York caught up during the 1969 Stonewall Riots, considered the starting point for the modern gay civil rights movement. The cast includes Jonny Beauchamp, Caleb Landry Jones, Karl Glusman, Vlademir Alexis, and Alexandre Nachi.

The script is written by Jon Robin Baitz.

Emmerich’s directing credits include “Independence Day,” “White House Down,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” “2012” and “Anonymous.”

Meyers is represented by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners; Perlman by Gersh Agency and KLWGN; and King by Coast to Coast Talent Group and Industry Entertainment.
