Jason Reitman Attached to Direct Adaptation of ‘The Possibilities’

Indian Paintbrush and Right Away Films will prodcue

Indian Paintbrush and Jason Reitman’s Right of Way Films have optioned the rights to the novel “The Possibilities” with Reitman attached to direct.

Kaui Hart Hemmings, who wrote “The Descendants,” penned the novel which is set in a Colorado ski town and follows a grieving mother struggling to overcome her son’s death. She’s visited by a girl with a secret that will change them both.

Indian Paintbrush, Reitman and Helen Estabrook are producing.

The WME-repped Reitman is currently shooting “Men, Women & Children” starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Emma Thompson. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
