“Fathers and Daughters,” a Black List script penned by Brad Desch, is a love story between a father and daughter living 25 years apart in New York City. Crowe plays a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter. Seyfried will portray the older version of the daughter in present-day Manhattan as she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood.
Voltage is handling foreign sales and began selling the film at the American Film Market.
Fonda is portraying the novelist’s literary agent, and Greenwood will play the writer’s brother-in-law and adversary in a custody battle over the daughter.
Fonda received an Emmy nomination for her role in HBO’s “The Newsroom” and played Nancy Reagan in “Lee Daniels’ ‘The Butler.'” She will next be seen in “This Is Where I Leave You” opposite Tina Fey.
