'Insurgent' Casts Australian Actor Keiynan Lonsdale

Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of “The Divergent Series: Insurgent,” the second installment of the Lionsgate franchise.

Lonsdale will portray Uriah in the film, currently in production in Atlanta. In the Veronica Roth trilogy, the character is a Dauntless-born initiate who became a good friend of Tris, portrayed in the film by Shailene Woodley, and also Divergent.

“Insurgent” stars Woodley, Theo James,and Kate Winslet and is directed by Robert Schwentke from a screenplay by Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman. The film opens March 20, 2015.

Lonsdale’s credits include a series regular role on “Dance Academy.” Lonsdale is represented by Silver Lining Entertainment and Morrissey Management Australia.
