David Legeno Dead: 'Harry Potter' Actor

David Legeno, an English actor and mixed martial artist best known for his villainous role in the “Harry Potter” films, was found dead in Death Valley on Sunday morning. He was 50.

The Inyo County Sheriff’s Department was notified on the morning of July 6 by two unrelated hikers who found the remains below Death Valley’s Manly Beacon, near Zabriskie Point. A helicopter was sent out to transport the body, later identified as Legeno.

Officials of Inyo Country report that Legeno died of “heat-related issues,” likely on a hiking outing. An autopsy has yet to be performed.

Legeno took up boxing and wrestling at the age of 42, known in the United Kingdom as The Enforcer. He used his talents in many action films such as “Snatch” and “Batman Begins.” He received wider attention for his role in the “Harry Potter” franchise as Fenrir Greyback, a werewolf who hunts down Harry and his friends in the final three entries of the series.

Legeno is survived by his daughter, Wendy.
