Media Asia Entertainment Group has unveiled a slate of new film titles, befitting its 20th anniversary.

Media Asia Entertainment Group on Monday (March 24) unveiled a slate of new film titles, befitting its 20th anniversary.

Headed by Peter Lam, the company used the first day of FilMart to confirm “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart 2,” a sequel to the 2011 Hong Kong-Chinese comedy. The sequel will star Louis Koo, Vic Chou and Miriam Yeung, and, as with the first episode, will be directed by Johnnie To.

Another romantic comedy, “Break Up 100,” directed by Adam Wong and starring Ekin Cheung, Chrissie Chau, Ivana Wong, C AllStar and Ho Ho-pang, is now in post-production and scheduled for release in the summer.

A third title is “Triumph in the Sky,” the bigscreen version of the hit TV series of the same name, and will feature Francis Ng and Julian Cheung.

Media Asia will also produce its first 3D animated film, “Monkey King Reloaded in 3D,” with Cantopop star Leon Lai (pictured) as the producer.

Among the seven films, “Helio” looks set to have the biggest international potential, with a story that focuses on a criminal wanted in South Korea who comes to Hong Kong to sell a nuclear bomb to terrorists. Sunny Luk, who co-directs the film along with Longman Leung, said he had viewers across Asia in mind as the primary target audience when making the film. It features Nick Cheung, Chang Chen, Shawn Yue and Janice Man.

The remaining two titles are “She Remembers, He Forgets,” a romantic comedy produced by Teddy Robin and Saville Chan, and “Wine War,” directed by Leon Lai.
