Felicity Jones is in negotiations to star in Universal’s “Rosaline,” a new take on the Romeo and Juliet story.

The project is based on the novel by Rebecca Serle, “When You Were Mine,” published in 2012 by Simon Pulse.

Alex Timbers will direct.

Shawn Levy will produce, with Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber penning the current draft of the screenplay. VP of production Maradith Frenkel and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for the studio.

Jones is repped by WME and Independent Talent Group in the U.K and can be seen next in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”
