Emma Watson has joined Ethan Hawke in The Wwinstein Co.’s upcoming thriller “Regression.”

Alejandro Amenabar is directing from his own screenplay. Amenabar’s longtime partner, Fernando Bovaira, is producing for his company, MOD Entertainment, with Canadian producer Christina Piovesan.

TWC-Dimension will release the film in 2015. FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales at Berlin.

The storyline is currently being kept under wraps.

Amenabar previously teamed with Dimension on “The Others,” which grossed over $200 million worldwide.

“I am passionate about Alejandro and his work and am so happy to be collaborating with him. I’m really excited by the challenge my character presents to me as an actress… I can’t wait to begin,” said Watson.

Watson’s recent credits since completing the Harry Potter films include “Bling Ring” and “This Is the End.” She will be seen next in Paramount’s “Noah” opposite Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly.

Watson has also been attached to “Your Voice in My Head” since September.

TWC-Dimension dated “Regression” for U.S. release on Aug. 28, 2015, after acquiring U.S. rights to the project at the American Film Market. At that point, the screenplay was described as being about a man who has no memory of sexually abusing his daughter, despite charges against him, and who may be part of a nationwide conspiracy.

“Regression” is the fourth title planned for release under the TWC-Dimension label following “Paddington,” “Murder Mystery” and “Passengers.”

Watson is repped by Markham Froggatt Irwin in the U.K. and WME in the U.S.
