Though she still has the final season of HBO’s “The Newsroom” to film, Emily Mortimer is making sure her film slate stays filled after the series ends, as she is in negotiations to co-star with James Badge Dale in Legendary’s “Spectral.”

Max Martini and Cory Hardrict also star with Nic Mathieu directing. Universal will distribute.

Described as a supernatural “Black Hawk Down,” “Spectral” was recently rewritten by John Gatins and George Nolfi. Ian Fried wrote the original script.

Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce with Jillian Share and Guy Riedel serving as executive producers.

Share and Sophie Sikora are overseeing the movie for Legendary.

Mortimer most recently wrapped production on the indie “Ten Thousand Saints” opposite Ethan Hawke. She is repped by ICM Partners, 42 and Brillstein Entertainment.
