Walt Disney Animation has found its demigod for “Moana” in Dwayne Johnson.

The actor has signed on to voice Maui, a mythological being who aids a girl in her search for a fabled island in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania.

In Hawaiian folklore, Maui pulled the islands from the sea and lassoed the sun atop Haleakala, the islands’ highest peak.

Johnson will next be seen in Universal’s “Furious 7,” out in April, and “San Andreas,” in May. He also is set to play Black Adam in superhero actioner “Shazam,” based on the DC comic.

“Moana” will sail into theaters in 2016.

Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess and the Frog”) are co-directing the film.

Walt Disney Animation recently produced “Big Hero 6,” out in theaters now.

I know this is totally off subject…but I need to write this. Wondering why The Rock is not saying anything about the injustices going in with black people and the police? Does he think it doesn’t involve him. Dwayne you’re only HALF Samoan….there’s another half that you seem content to completely ignore and could use your attention. Dwayne is all about promoting his reality show. Is he worried about ruining his “good boy” Hollywood image or his white girlfriend leaving him if he speaks out in support of Black America?!?! If Dwayne Johnson wants to be so inspirational and motivational, then do something! Innocent young black people are dying by the hands of power-hungry police hiding behind their badge and an unfair justice system…C’mon Rock, SAY SOMETHING!!!!!!!!

lol MyblackisBeautiful, mind your own damn business .. so what if he’s half Samoan and black .. what the hell does that have to do with his movie and his money.

Sounds pretty cool! Hopefully, Dwayne will do the singing himself. And I pray he won’t try to pitch his no talent and sorry excuse of a singer/songwriter girlfriend Lauren Hashian to Disney to have her contribute to the musical part of the film. That would be a disaster…just like that horrible single she released.
