Paramount Pictures and MGM have released the first trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s “Hercules,” directed by Brett Ratner that shows the thesp in action as the Greek demigod, battling giant serpents, lions and wild boars.

The film, which becomes the third major swords-and-sandals epic to be released in theaters this year, after “The Legend of Hercules” and “Pompeii,” bows July 25.

“Hercules” follows the character after he has completed his 12 Labors, in which he slays a nine-headed hydra and Nemean lion, as seen in the trailer.

Paramount revealed the first footage from the film on Monday at CinemaCon, in Las Vegas.

“Hercules” is based on a graphic novel series, written by Steve Moore and Admira Wijaya, published by Radical Comics. Written by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos, “Hercules” also stars Ian McShane, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes and Rufus Sewell.
