“It is about a guy who is a knight in shining armor, except he lives in a world where knights don’t exist anymore.”

Sony has released the firs trailer for “The Equalizer,” the drama based on Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim’s 1980s CBS show that reteams Denzel Washington with his “Training Day” director, Antoine Fuqua. Chloe Grace Moretz stars as the hardened “damsel in distress” that Washington’s Robert McCall rescues after a seemingly chance encounter, setting off a war between him and the Russian mob. Melissa Leo, Marton Csokas and Haley Bennett also star.

The film is set to bow September 26 and a sequel, which is also penned by Richard Wenk is in the works.

A younger Clint Eastwood would also be perfect for the part of Robert MCcall in this remake. But I`ll take Denzel any day. Always enjoy a movie that he is in. I agree he never disappoints an audience.
His portrayals are always believable. A movie like this includes a lot of vilence and action and anyone not expecting to see this should not go see it.

  2. Jason Hill says:

Yes, it is a rehash of the TV series, but has there ever been a movie that Washington was not absolutely fantastic in?

  3. PAT TIERNEY says:

Somehow I need that soundtrack by Stuart Copeland (The Police)

  4. Spinner60 says:

Yet another film treatment of a TV series—the wife and I enjoyed actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall in the original TV series from 1985-89(?). The premise was a retired agent — faked his death — decides to help those with no hope by placing an add in the personals.
One of my favorite scenes is series is when he uses a men’s room door stop/coat hook as a weapon.
Think I’ll pass on this remake…

Isn’t this the trailer for Man On Fire 2: Back From The Dead With A Shaved Head?

  6. harry georgatos says:

Seems like I’ve seen it a million times before. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt because of hardcore director Fuqua with films such films as Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen and my personal favourite Shooter.

  7. Don says:

Denzel needs a new act. He’s been the same guy in every movie for 10 years

And every time..he’s awesome! I loved the tv show..looking forward to this interpretation. You can’t do wrong with Denzel Washington

  8. Bev says:

Denzel Washington cannot possibly give a bad performance…ever. It is impossible.

  9. Looks like director Antoine Fuqua captured the essence and tone of this brilliantly written screenplay.
