Participant Media, Paramount and Samuel Goldwyn Films will distribute CNN Films’ “Ivory Tower,” which premiered at Sundance.
Andrew Rossi’s film will have a June theatrical release in the U.S. through Samuel Goldwyn Films. Following the theatrical window, “Ivory Tower” will be distributed across home entertainment platforms through Paramount Home Media Distribution.
Paramount will also handle all distribution outside of the U.S.
Participant Media, which teamed with Paramount Vantage on “Waiting for Superman” in 2010, will mount a social action campaign for “Ivory Tower” in support of the film’s theatrical release.
The film focuses on the value of a college education with tuition spiraling upward and student debt passing $1 trillion.
“Ivory Tower” producers are Rossi and Josh Braun with executive producers Vinnie Malhotra and Amy Entelis. Kate Novack is co-producer and Andrew Coffman is associate producer.
The deal was negotiated by Participant’s Jeff Ivers and Ian Puente for Samuel Goldwyn Films, with Braun of Submarine and Stacey Wolf of CNN on behalf of CNN Films and the producers.
