“22 Jump Street” star Channing Tatum is in negotiations to join the cast of Joel and Ethan Coen’s “Hail Caesar!”

He joins George Clooney and Josh Brolin. The Coen brothers are writing and directing the pic.

Universal will distribute with the Coens producing, along with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan for Working Title Films.

The story follows a Hollywood fixer in the 1950s who is working to keep a studio’s stars in line.

Tatum has already seen great success working with Phil Lord and Chris Miller on “21 Jump Street” and “22 Jump Street” and also recently worked with the Wachowski siblings on “Jupiter Ascending,” which bows in February. He can be seen next in Sony Classics’ “Foxcatcher.”

He is repped by UTA and Management 360.

  1. If Tatum is selling, this fan is buying says:

Something seems “a little off” about Tatum. Fortunately, what is different about him is appealing and is very marketable. I like him and appreciate his authenticity and versatility, predicting he will be around and in demand for a very long time. “I like the way he moves…….” and looks and acts…….and smiles.

  2. PETER says:

Channing is very likeable, but he needs to watch his diet and keep working out or dancing, he looks fat some times. He’s not a spring chicken any more and will begin showing the strain of all the movies he’s doing and how hard he is working. Some actors age well, but some don’t, especially if they do whatever they want to do. Josh Brolin and especially James Franco are starting to go down hill. Some keep looking good ’til the end–Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise. But Mel Gibson doesn’t look so good. Same with actresses, if they booze it and drug it out, when they are young, then they look like shit in middle age-Melanie Griffith, Liza Minnelli!
