Casey Affleck is pairing up with producer John Powers Middleton to launch a production company focused on creating films and TV series.

The duo has not yet finalized details on the rumored — and unnamed — joint venture, which has not been officially announced. Speculation has emerged that a production chief will be selected later this month.

The company is being designed to afford Affleck the opportunity to focus more on producing, writing, and directing.

Middleton is an executive producer on Good Universe’s “Oldboy” and “The Voices” and a co-producer on “The Lego Movie.” He’s an exec producer on “Poltergeist” and “Run All Night” along with the TV series “Bates Motel.” He is expected to continue working with Vertigo Entertainment and Good Universe.

Affleck broke out with his Oscar-nominated role in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” Other credits include “Gone Baby Gone” and “Out of the Furnace,” He’s been cast in Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” and John Hillcoat’s “Triple Nine.”

He will be making his directorial debut with an untitled Josh Hamilton biopic, of which he is directing from his own script.

Affleck is repped by WME.
