Scandinavian sales shingle the Yellow Affair has inked a flurry of sales on Finnish helmer Dome Karukoski’s drama “Heart of a Lion.”
“Lion,” which world premiered at Toronto, centers on a neo-Nazi who falls in love with a woman whose son is black. It’s been acquired by I-On (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Ripley’s Film (Italy), Jupiter Communications (France, Benelux and Dom Tom), Legendmain Filmes (Portugal, Angola) and Rija Films (Latvia). The Yellow Affair is now closing Germany and Austria and previously sold the film to sold to Australia/New Zealand (Vendetta) and Russia (Starlet), among other territories.
At Cannes, the Yellow Affair is showing a promo of “The Girl King,” Mika Kaurismaki’s biopic of Swedish Queen Kristina, and is hosting market screenings for “Fell,” Kasmir Burgess’ drama starring Matt Nable, and Ronnie Sandahl’s romance drama “Underdog.”
