CANNES: Tribeca Title 'Extraterrestrial' Gets U.S.

IFC Midnight has acquired the U.S rights to The Vicious Brothers’ sci-fi horror film “Extraterrestrial,” a month after its Tribeca Film Festival premiere.

Production companies are Vicarious Entertainment, Twin Engine Films and Buffalo Films. Shawn Angelski and Martin Fisher are the producers.

Vicarious Entertainment’s Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas financed and are exec producers along with Randy Manis through his ManisFilm shingle.

The film stars Brittany Allen, Freddie Stroma, Jesse Moss, Melanie Papalia, Gill Bellows and Michael Ironside. The story follows a group of friends on a weekend trip to a cabin in the woods who find themselves terrorized by alien visitors.

CAA arranged financing and brokered the deal. Cargo Entertainment is handling foreign sales at Cannes.
