Cannes: Nexo Digital Makes First Foray as International Distributor (EXCLUSIVE)

Italian digital distributor Nexo Digital is making its first foray as an international distributor at Cannes where it is selling selected territories on the digitally restored version of “A Hard Day’s Night,” and also on docu “Vatican Museums 3D,” for which Nexo has worldwide rights.

For “A Hard Day’s Night,” Nexo is selling Latin America, Spain, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Russia and Scandinavia. Nexo acquired those rights from U.S. investor Bruce Karsh, president of Oaktree Capital Management.

“Vatican Museums 3D,” which is produced by Rupert Murdoch’s Sky Italia paybox, brings Ultra HD 4K/3D cameras and the “dimensionalization” technique used by James Cameron. Nexo has already sold “Vatican” to Pathe Live for France, to Omniverse Vision for U.K., Cool Connections for Russia and Sharmill Films for Australia and New Zealand.

“We are entering this market, working directly with individual exhibitors and local distributors with enthusiasm and know-how and selecting only a few important projects,” said Nexo Digital topper Franco di Sarro.
