CANNES: Jackie Chan to go ‘Civilian’ for IM Global

Chinese star adds English-language output.

Jackie Chan is to star in English-language thriller “Civilian,” set to be produced by Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road label.

International rights are represented by IM Global. U.S. rights are handled by WME.

The action follows a salesman who finds himself in the middle of a terror attack at arms convention.

The picture is to be directed by Peter Segal (“Anger Management,” “Grudge Match”) and is expected to shoot from early 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Finance is by PalmStar Media Capital and EBF & Associates.

Chan is also set to star in US-Chinese action adventure “Skiptrace,” alongside Fan Bingbing and Seann William-Scott. He is also rumoured to be circling additions to the “Karate Kid” and ‘Rush Hour” franchises.
