IM Global will handle international sales on the thriller “Forsaken,” with “Gravity” screenwriter Jonas Cuaron directing and Gael Garcia Bernal (pictured above) starring.

IM Global will launch international sales in Cannes.

“Forsaken” is a working title and replaces “Desierto.” Variety first reported last August that Bernal had been attached to portray a man traveling with a group of immigrants through an unguarded section of the Sonoran desert trying to cross into the United States. A deranged vigilante — played by Morgan — begins shooting off the immigrants one by one.

Cuaron, the son of Alfonso Cuaron, co-wrote the script with Mateo Garcia. He is producing along with  Alfonso Cuaron, Carlos Cuaron , Charles Gillibert and Alex Garcia.

Exec producers are David Linde of Lava Bear Films, Gael Garcia Bernal, Frederique Dumas-Zajdela, Nicolas Celis and Santiago Garcia Galvan.

The deal was negotiated by Jonathon Deckter of IM Global, David Linde and David Boyle on behalf of the filmmakers. The Cuarons are repped by UTA and attorney Henry Holmes.
