Broad Green Pictures will produce and finance Jeremy Saulnier’s crime-thriller “Green Room” with Filmscience, set to be his follow-up to revenge tale “Blue Ruin” (pictured above).
Anish Savjani and Neil Kopp of Filmscience will produce with BGP’s Victor Moyers. Gabriel and Daniel Hammond will be executive producing.
“Blue Ruin” won the Fipresci Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival after premiering in the Directors Fortnight and the Best Director Award at the Gijon International Film Festival. Variety’s Justin Chang said in his upbeat Cannes review that the film was “lean and suspenseful.”
“Saulnier masterfully connected with the audience in ‘Blue Ruin,'” said BGP CEO Gabriel Hammond. “His taut tale of vengeance riveted theatergoers.”
“Green Room”centers on a punk rock band find themselves trapped in a secluded venue after stumbling upon an act of violence, fighting for their lives against a gang of white power skinheads.
The film slated to go in production in September.
Saulnier is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Gray Krauss Stratford Sandler Des Rochers.
