The Weinstein Co.’s Dimension Films has preemptively purchased Ray Wright’s psychological horror pitch “The Witches’ Ballroom” and set up the project with “Night at the Museum” producer Shawn Levy.
Wright wrote “The Crazies” and sold “The Widow” to Vendome. Levy will produce via his 21 Laps banner with Dan Levine at 21 Laps.
The logline is being kept under wraps.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Ray Wright for a very long time now and we’ve been trying to find something to collaborate on,” said Dimension topper Bob Weinstein, co-chief of The Weinstein Co. “‘The Witches’ Ballroom’ is going to terrify audiences in a way they’ve never seen before.”
Matthew Signer and Keith Levine will oversee for Dimension. The deal was negotiated for Dimension by Adrian Lopez and Signer and on behalf of Wright by UTA and attorney Mark Temple.
