Shooting starting in April in Los Angeles

In a pre-Berlin move, Jessica Alba has come on board Atlas Independent’s comedy “The Wright Girls” with “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly directing.

Highland Film Group will introduce the project to international buyers at next week’s European Film Market in Berlin. Production will start in the second quarter in Los Angeles.

Atlas Entertainment’s Alex Gartner will produce with William Green and Aaron Ginsburg of Atlas Independent.

“The Wright Girls,” scripted by Bert V. Royal, is inspired by the Japanese film “2LDK.”

Story centers on the costars of a past-its-prime sitcom who are roommates in real life. They go from best friends to worst enemies over the course of a single night when they realize they are both up for the same lead role in a big movie.

Connolly directed Alba recently in the indie drama “Dear Eleanor.” “I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Jessica again and re-imagine this great story for a new audience,” he said.

Alba and Connolly are represented by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment. Royal is represented by Paradigm.
