Ride Along 2 Benjamin Bratt

Benjamin Bratt is set to join Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in Universal’s “Ride Along 2.”

Tim Story will return to direct. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi penned the script.

Plot details are still vague, but Variety has been told that this installment will have its two stars traveling to Miami for fun, chaos, and shenanigans.

Cube and Matt Alvarez will produce for CubeVision alongside William Packer for Will Packer Productions. Larry Brezner will also produce.

The pic bows on Jan. 15, 2016.

Exec VP of production, Scott Bernstein will oversee the project for the studio.

Bratt recently appeared in Fox’s “24: Live Another Day.” He also lent his voice talents to Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s 2013 animated hit, “Despicable Me 2.”

He is repped by WME, Circle of Confusion and Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg & Light, LLP.
