Bac Films’ sales manager Clementine Hugot, who was on hand to shop “Human Capital” at the market, inked deals with Taiwan’s Joint Entertainment and Korea’s Entermode Corp.. Pic is now set to travel to over 30 territories.
“Filmart is always a great place to network with Asian distributors and forge relationships and this year’s edition proved to be particularly dynamic for us,” said Hugot, adding that she noted the presence of interesting new VOD players.
The movie’s attractive cast is led by Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Valeria Golino.
Based on Stephen Amidon’s bestseller and structured in three chapters, “Human Capital” turns on two families whose lives are tied together following the tragic death of a cyclist on Christmas Eve.
It’s produced by Indiana Production and RAI Cinema and co-produced by France’s Manny Films.
Tribeca will host the U.S. premiere of the film.
Bac also sold “The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears,” Helene Cattet, Bruno Forzani’s artful horror thriller, to South Korea’s Alto Media for all rights distribution. Alto plans on releasing the film theatrically in the Fall. Strand Releasing picked up North American rights to “Tears” in the run up to Berlin.
