Matthew Modine Stanley Kubrick directors chair

Matthew Modine’s photograph of Stanley Kubrick’s director’s chair and Tony Bennett’s impressionist-inspired painting of Central Park are among the artworks donated by artists this year to the Tribeca Film Festival to be handed out to the winners of the 2014 fest’s competitive categories.

The Gotham festival has a tradition of presenting original works of arts to the filmmakers honored in Tribeca’s juried competitions. Also among the eight pieces to be given out this year are a photo by Clifford Ross, a painting by James Nares and a woodcut by Stephen Hannock, as well as works by Tim Barber, Catherine Murphy and Alexis Rockman.

Modine, whose photo is pictured above, worked with Kubrick in 1987 pic “Full Metal Jacket,” while Bennett’s piece (pictured, below) was painted in 2009. Before they’re given to winners, all the  donated artworks will be on display during the Tribeca fest, scheduled this year to run April 16-27.
