WATCH: New Trailer for Angelina Jolie’s ‘Unbroken’ Honors Louis Zamperini

Universal has released a new trailer for Angelina Jolie’s drama “Unbroken,” a week after the death of World War II hero Louis Zamperini — the subject of the film.

The trailer recaps Zamperini competing in the 1936 Berlin Olympics as a distance runner, fighting in WWII as a U.S. Army Air Force bombardier, and becoming a prisoner of war after surviving a crash in shark-infested waters in the Pacific.

“However dark the light, however dim our hopes, the light will always follow darkness,” a minister intones at the start of the trailer, which then cuts to mid-air combat scenes.

“Unbroken” hits theaters on Christmas Day.
