Indian mythologies to fuel action adventure

MUMBAI — “300″ producer Mark Canton and Graphic India have agreed to develop and produce a live action superhero feature based on Graphic’s comic book property “The Sadhu.”

Canton will produce through his Atmosphere Entertainment company, along with Graphic India’s co-founders Sharad Deverajan and Gotham Chopra.

The story focuses on a 19th century British soldier who is trained in supernatural arts by Indian forest people known as sadhus. Having acquired powers he must choose between enlightenment or revenge on those who murdered his family.

“In the same way Greek myths have captivated the imagination of audiences arund the world, the screenplay by Gotham Chopra and Sharad Deverajan for ‘Warrior’ taps into the mythologies of India through an accessible action-packed adventure,” said Canton in a statement.

Graphic India was formed by comic book company Liquid Comics and CA Media, the Asian investment arm of Peter Chernin’s The Chernin Group.
