“The Fast And The Furious” helmer Rob Cohen is set to direct action heist thriller “Risk.”

Pic is penned by Eric Harlacher and produced by Adrian Politowski and Karl Richards at Umedia and Tim Kwok, Ksana Golod and George Parra, whose producing credits include “American Hustle,” “Nebraska” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”

An actioner blending psychological suspense and action, “Risk” follows a brilliant thief who is released early from prison to execute a nearly impossible art heist.

“I’ve always wanted to make a sophisticated caper/thriller in the style of ‘Topkapi,’ ‘To Catch A Thief’ and ‘The Hot Rock,’ with smart characters and sexy European backgrounds.  When I read the script of ‘Risk’, I knew this was it,” said Rob Cohen.

Added Politowski, “We’re delighted to have Rob onboard. His remarkable talent and proven track record – particularly in this genre – is well-established.”

Pic will go into production this Summer. Umedia Intl. reps the pic in international markets.
