Dallas Buyers Club” scripter Craig Borten established the spine of his screenplay 22 years ago when he travelled to Dallas to interview the dying Ron Woodroof. He finished off a draft and spent years pitching the project before getting a fresh set of eyes from Melisa Wallack, who became co-scripter.
