The section will include the screening of a selection of action films from around the world mixed in with a smattering of Chan’s own movies. It will be followed by a prize ceremony based on public online voting.
The package will be rounded out with a number of seminar sessions on technique and design.
“Jackie Chan International Action Movie Week aims at commending excellent film-makers who have made great contributions to the world’s action movies, shown extraordinary performances, technical innovations guided new action talents, and made great efforts in passing on Chinese action movie traditions or promoted its development,” the festival said in a statement.
Chan is currently shooting actioner “Dragon Blade” with co-stars Adrien Brody and John Cusack. On completion of “Dragon Blade,” Chan will next shoot English-language actioner “Skiptrace,” before taking the lead role in “Chinese Zodiac II,” a sequel to the comedy action hit “Dragon Blade,” which Chan directed and starred in.
