John Woo Head Beijing Festival Jury

MUMBAI — Chinese director John Woo has been set as the head of the jury for the competition section of the upcoming Beijing Intl. Film Festival.

The fourth edition of the fest will run April 16-23 at various locations around the Chinese capital.

The Tiantan awards jury will disburse 10 prizes.

Woo, best known for “A Better Tomorrow,” as well as Face/Off” and “Mission: Impossible II,” is in post-production on “The Crossing,” a big-budget action drama set during the revolutionary fervor of 1949. Backed by Beijing Galloping Horse, the film will be presented as a two-parter in Asia, with the first releasing at the end of the year.
