Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Bang Bang!’ Play Imax

Bang Bang!,” the Indian action thriller starring Hrithik Roshan, will be released as Imax film, only the second Indian film to be remastered and released in the giant screen format.

The film is being distributed and marketed by Fox Star Studios, the joint venture between 20th Century Fox and pay-TV player Star India. Release is set for Oct. 2 in three different languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

FIP India (Fox Intl. Productions) will be releasing “Bang Bang!” on more than 4,000 screens in India, with more than 800 screens outside of India across 46 countries, including 250-plus screens in the U.S., making it the widest release ever for a Bollywood film.

Directed by Siddharth Raj Anand, and starring Roshan and Katrina Kaif, “Bang Bang!” is a remake of the Fox film “Knight and Day,” which starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, and which grossed $3.3 million at the Indian box office in 2010.

“Bang Bang!” has had a big social media launch with the trailer claimed to be the most-watched teaser trailer for a Bollywood film, earning more than 2.3 million views within 24 hours of its debut on YouTube.

The first Indian film to be released in Imax format was Aamir Khan- and Kaif-starring box office hit “Dhoom 3” in 2013.
