AFM: Fortissimo Raises Glass to ‘Kampai’

Kampai! For the love of Sake

HONG KONG – Fortissimo Films will handle international sales of Japanese documentary “Kampai! For the Love of Sake.”

The English- and Japanese-language film is currently in production under the direction of Mirai Konishi and explores the world of Sake, Japan’s national drink.

The film is produced by Konishi’s L.A. based Wagamama Media, along with L.A.-based producer, Chiaki Yanagimoto. It is executive produced by Nao Komai and Synca Creations CEO, Soojun Bae and will be presented in association with Fortissimo.

Fortissimo has handled several iconic, food-related documentaries including “Super Size Me,” “Food Inc.,” “Jiro Dreams Of Sushi,” and “Foodies.”

The company will begin pre-sales at the AFM where early footage will be available. The completed film is expected to get a festival release in mid-2015.
